Cristiano Pomante is an italian composer and performer. In recent years, he has collaborated and studied with prominent Italian artists with the sole aim of further defining the identity of his musical message. He graduated at a very young age with the highest honors and distinction in percussion, later refining his skills in jazz vibraphone under the guidance of Ramberto Ciammarughi and Andrea Dulbecco. His ongoing research delves into the interaction between improvised and written music, culminating in a diploma in composition under the mentorship of Giovanni Verrando. He has attended masterclasses with prominent figures such as Marco Momi, Ramberto Ciammarughi, Simon Steen-Andersen, Stefan Prins, Tristan Murail, Mike Mainieri, and David Friedman. Beginning his career as an orchestral musician, he later distinguished himself as a jazz vibraphonist, leading his own ensembles and collaborating with important musicians on the Italian scene. For several years, he has primarily dedicated himself to composing for mixed media, carrying out his professional activity with great versatility. His compositional work focuses on the link between instrumental gesture and sound processing, with the goal of uniting acoustic instruments, digital technologies, and multimedia languages into a cohesive performative experience. His compositions have been performed by the Syntax Ensemble, Divertimento Ensemble, and by soloists such as Myriam García Fidalgo and Elio Marchesini. His latest work, “Distortion Future,” a piece for bass drum, video, and electronics, is published by SZ - Sugar in Milan."
