Cristiano Pomante debuts in 2015 with his first album “La Storia”, published by renowned Roman label Alfamusic. In the last few years he started considering the experience of music as a wide range communication tool, acting as a true outsider of the Italian musical scene. With the release of his second album “Libero Pensatore” (self produced, 2020) the musician detaches himself from the instrument, making space for sound research through the study of composition and other instruments. For inspiration, Pomante refers to varied and articulated resources (Varèse and Metheny, Bartok and Corea, Grisey and Shorter, Debussy and Romitelli) that highlight his nature as an Italian musician deeply linked to the entire ‘900 European musical culture.

Cristiano Pomante is a dedicated musician with a clear lyrical and dramatic vision. In recent years, he has collaborated and studied with prominent Italian artists with the sole aim of further defining the identity of his musical message. He graduated at a very young age with the highest honors and distinction in percussion, later refining his skills in jazz vibraphone under the guidance of Ramberto Ciammarughi and Andrea Dulbecco. His ongoing research delves into the interaction between improvised and written music, culminating in a diploma in composition under the mentorship of Giovanni Verrando. His artistic focus revolves around exploring the relationship between theatrical gesture and sound art, striving to dissolve the boundary between acoustic and digital instruments. To achieve this, he integrates the poetic and dramaturgical elements of his compositions with various media, including sound, light, theatrical gestures, and video.
